Q. How do I setup my "NEW" U.S. Cellular
voice mailbox?
- Dial *86 or your cell phone number
from your cell phone.
- You will be prompted to (1) Select a Language, (2) Choose and Enter a Permanent Password, (3) Record your Voice Signature and (4) Select a Greeting
- You will need to remember your password if you listen to your voicemails from a landline phone or any phone other than your cell phone.
- If you like, you choose to Skip Password entry from your cell phone by dialing 4-4-2-1 from the Main Menu.
Q. When am I eligible for current promotions
& special prices on new phones?
- The normal "rule" is that you are eligible
after 10 months on a 12 month agreement and after 18 months on a 24
month agreement to renew your agreement and take advantage of the current
promotions and phone pricing in effect at that time. If you do decide
to renew prior to the end of your contract, the balance will be added
to the length of the new agreement.
Q. My phone is not working properly, what
is the best way to get it repaired?
- Your new phone is usually warranted by the manufacturer
for 12 months after the date of purchase. If during normal usage the
phone stops working properly, call your U.S. Cellular representative
and explain the issue. Typically, we will temporarily replace the phone
with a "loaner" (may not be the same model as your phone)
and send the phone out for warranty repair. Turnaround time is usually
about three weeks.
- If your phone has fallen into water, broke on the
impact from a drop, lost or stolen - your 12 month warranty will not
apply. This is why we STRONGLY encourage our customers to subscribe
to Signal Direct Insurance for $5.95/month. Even though you pay a greatly
reduced price for the handset when you sign up or renew your service
agreement, the replacement cost for the phone tends to range from about
$100 to over $250 depending upon the make and model!
